The Lower Chippewa Invasives Partnership, Inc. formerly West Central Wisconsin Invasive Plant Management Area is a coalition of several organizations, agencies and landowners who work to make a difference in the spread of invasive plants.  Our concern is the loss of biodiversity as a result of the spread of non-native invasive plants will out-compete our native plants.  We just changed our name in early 2015 to allow for people to remember and make it easier to locate.  As part of this change, we became incorporated with the State of Wisconsin.  We are now the first CISMA in WI to become a 501c3 non-profit organization.  Now we can now receive tax-deductible donations to help further our vision of invasive species education, outreach, and control!  Many changes and improvements are coming our way to better serve the community.  We were formed on September 14, 2011, in Menomonie, WI to serve Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin and Pierce Counties.

Several organizations have agreed to support the mission of LCIP including Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin and Pierce Land Conservation Departments, Beaver Creek Reserve, Pheasants Forever, University of Wisconsin-Extension, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Conservation Service, School Districts of Menomonie/Colfax/ /Boyceville/Durand, Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, Dunn County Master Gardeners, Tainter-Menomin Lake Improvement Association, West Wisconsin Land Trust, Dunn County Fish and Game Association, Downsville Sportsmen’s Club, Wisconsin Clear Waters Trout Unlimited, Red Cedar Basin Monitoring Group, UW-Stout/Eau Claire/River Falls, Natural Resources Conservation Service, The Chippewa Savanna Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts, Invasive Plant Association of Wisconsin, River Country RC&D and more every year.

The mission of the Lower Chippewa Invasives Partnership is to control invasive plants by fostering partner cooperation and community education.

We want to make available to all West Central agencies, citizens and landowners information about invasive plants that are found within our geographical area including ways to identify and methods to control the invasive terrestrial plants.

There are numerous resources to help you identify plants you may question.  Our website focuses on a few that are specifically found in Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, and Pierce Counties.  If you would like to look at a more thorough list of plants, please refer to the Links on the right.

Our group meets monthly and you are welcome to join us for the meetings.  We are always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of functions such as surveying the location of invasives, helping with educational outreach, and helping eradicate invasives.
